St. Dominic Village is a non-profit established by the Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Our facility provides services to over 600 residents a year.

St. Dominic Village is a member of the Texas Medical Center. We are located on a beautiful 27-acre campus conveniently located off of Holcombe Blvd near Interstate 288. Current Openings - October 2021

Maintenance Technician

  • To provide a daily survey of the buildings to ensure a safe and secure living environment for the residents of the Village. Perform repairs and upkeep to physical plants and equipment used in the buildings of the Village. Certify that all equipment and furniture is kept to a standard that will exceed State of Texas standards. Maintain all repair records. 

 

Position Qualifications: 
The individual will possess the following: 

  • Knowledge in plumbing, electrical or HVAC

  • Ability to trouble shoot electrical problems, replace electrical motors

  • Knowledge of pneumatic controls, carpentry, building repair, nurse call systems, plumbing and painting

  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Knowledge of fire safety and codes for long term care facility

  • Must willingly demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Must demonstrate initiative- be a self-starter with job duties assigned

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

  • Ensure residents receive the appropriate medications (as ordered) at the appropriate times and within the scope of responsibilities of the medication aide as defined by the State of Texas.  Clearly documents administered and refused medications. 

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Certified by the State of Texas (approved training program) in medication administration

  • Must have knowledge of restrictions regarding job duties and be willing to abide by those restrictions

  • Experience helpful

  • Must be able to accurately administer medications

  • Must willingly demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Must demonstrate initiative – be a self-starter with job duties assigned

  • Must have working knowledge of computers

  • $1500 SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE

Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN)

  • The unit LVN is responsible for the daily nursing care of the residents on the unit including administration of medications and treatments, receiving and transcribing physician orders, monitoring CNA activity,  and communicating effectively with staff, residents, families, physicians, and all other members of the interdisciplinary team.

 Position Qualifications:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing for licensed vocational nurses and possess a current license for the State of Texas.

  • Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice.

  • Basic knowledge of drug administration via all approved and ordered routes, including IV and infection control techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of drug actions and adverse reactions.

  • Willingness and consciousness to provide quality customer service in keeping with facility standards of practice.

  • Willingness to comply with and uphold the facility’s vision, mission statement, standards of practice and policies and procedures.

  • Must willingly demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Must demonstrate initiative – be a self-starter with job duties assigned.

  • Must be certified in IV therapy.

  • Have a working knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and computer literate.

  • $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE

 

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • St. Dominic Village is currently seeking full-time or PRN Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA). CNAs Assist licensed nurses in providing care by performing the necessary nursing skills to ensure residents' well being.

Education/Experience:

  • Certified by the State of Texas in nurses aide training.

  • Experience in long-term care a plus.

  • Must demonstrate initiative – be a self-starter with job duties assigned

  • Knowledge of electronic medical records

  • $3,000 SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE
